If you're interested, the bird on the coat of arms is called a 'Ravax'. It is a giant stag with large feathered wings, and a lions tail. Standing about 2 meters tall on average and 2.5 to 3 meters long, with a wingspan of 5-6 meters and weight of around 600kg. (Pretty please don't make me calculate wing load and if this is even possible 😩 I say that but I'll probably end up trying anyway...)
Patra the III was the ruling monarch of the year 244, in which Taldaria was formed as an independent country. Taladria was the previous spelling and pronunciation of the name pre 244, which to then at around the same time, The Republic of Taladria was formed, in separation with the monarchy becoming the official leadership.
This is using a previous version of my language, so when that's finalized I will have to come back and change it. For now, the scrolls read:
"N Rexos Taladria," - "The" ("N" This is changed to "N" when used at the start of a sentence, otherwise it is " t' " mid sentence apostrophised which is combined with the word it is amplifying thereafter)
"Ruler Rexos" "Taladria" (Very specific address of rulership and country omit the 'connector') ...
"Deviprokat Ch'Fr To'Metr" - "Devine Protection" "(Assigned (Chos))(For (Fatri))" (when two 'connection'/'linking' words are next to each other, they are shortened and combined with a apostrophe (Chos) (Fatri) - (Ch'Fr))
"The whole" ((Tо̄talis- Also known as the place they go when they die. The void, the "whole". Used to describe as under "everything" etc. In this insinuation; infinity.) As described before, with 'The', the same is with 'To', "The whole (of...)" as a abbreviation statement connector, shortened and apostrophised with the next word, 'time'. The apostrophe acts as the "of" in this as "The whole" and "Time" are showing to be connected in concept, I designed this language quirk as I see the "of" as unnecessary word in gauging the overall concept being told. Note though, Tо̄talis is a unique case in that it's so grand (a "major word") in meaning as a word that it is shortened, where as most words, "lesser words", they are not shortened.) ... "Time" (Metrament, again, so often used and so a "major word", has a shortened version when apostrophised.)
Overall simple translation: Under the rule of Rexos, of Taladria; Devine Protection for the rest of time.
Finally taking the effort to show the process! So I've had my coat of arms and achievement of arms done for a while now, and have been using them in my work as needed. On my recent city map update, I used the coat of arms design for the wax seal (see images left). I spent so long on the map that I feel it came out great and would like to get it printed soon. I thought, it would be really cool to have my own seal actually in wax instead of printed on, and since I have wax already, and 3D modelling down, I could give it a shot. I think it has turned out really well, though I'd like to do a 3rd version later on just to tweak the little things.
3DSMax Final model for print. I took that inital version, seperated the design plane, mirrored it and brought it into Zbrush for sculpting. I used the art I had as a stamp with -30 or so on the brush with full hardness, placing it with rectangle draw and trial and error till it was about right where I wanted. I went over with some dam-standard, orb crack and mask and move to make the face come out a bit further. I also noticed the plane was somehow not planar, so I went over with a flatten and planar brush where needed. It was hard to tell if I had things deep enough and perhaps in the future I will refine it for one last version to print. I chose SLA resin with the highest quality on the layers as I could. The test print I went with the cheapest one they had, FDM, PLA but with the highest quality I could and 100% Infill to help the strength and weight as much as possible. Note: Wax sticks to plastic, so I rubbed a little bio-oil on the seal before pressing, worked a charm. Heard hairspray works well but I didn't try it. (Apply hairspray FAR away from any flames haha)
Test Version, V1, Completely forgot I needed to mirror it for my design to come out this orientation in wax. Also due to the depth of the recess the wax did not flow evenly in the tiny gaps so as you can see in the result images (left), I made it shallower, with more detail.
Wax Seal Bottom, The opening is measured for a screw insert to then fit on my current seal handle. Thought it'd be easier then modelling a internal screw but I might just make a permanent handle instead, save me getting the insert. Was gonna give modelling it a go but I sent this to a company for print and cant afford the numerous testing.
Example of a threaded insert, finding it hard to find the specific type/one I need in stores.
